Botox is a Neuromodulator, a popular facial injectable that prohibits the movement of certain facial muscles. This is used to help smooth and decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. There are different types of neuromodulators that can help improve your treatment areas. Bliss By Riss prefers to use Jeuveau but has others available. Using Neuromodulators is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the United States.
COMMON TREATMENT AREAS
- Periorbital Rhytids AKA Crows Feet. Lines at the corner of the eyes.
- Forehead Lines. Horizontal lines across the forehead.
- The Glabellar Complex AKA 11 lines. lines between the eyebrows.
- Brow Lift. Improves appearance of the upper eyes. Helps with hooded eyes & feeling of heaviness
- Lip Flip. Causes the upper lip to flip giving the appearance of a fuller lip.
- Gummy Smile. Allows you to smile without showing your top gums.
- Bunny Lines. Treats wrinkles that appear on the bridge & side of the nose
Fillers help restore facial volume in desired areas where volume has been lost. This results in smoother skin and helps treat static wrinkles. Static wrinkles are wrinkles that are present during movement. For example, when you make a facial expression, such as smiling, laughing, and frowning, static wrinkles appear. These wrinkles are typically around the mouth and along the cheeks. This is due to a loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin. This can be treated, and volume can be restored with fillers!
COMMON TREATMENT AREAS
- Lip Filler. Plumping lips to add shape and volume.

Hey friends! My name is Mariss Metalik. I am the Owner of Bliss By Riss Aesthetics! I am a Registered Nurse right outside of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in Beaver County. I had known I wanted to be a nurse since I was sixteen years old. When I was sixteen my life turned upside down when my dad was in a horrible motorcycle accident. He was life flighted to a trauma hospital in downtown Pittsburgh and had emergency brain surgery. The Doctors said he had a significant amount of brain damage. It was unknown if he would wake up. Every single day after school, I spent every minute sitting at my dad's bedside holding his hand talking to him, and praying with him that he would wake up. During this time, I would observe the nurses and what they would do. I sat there and thought to myself “I could do this! I want to help save people like they are helping my dad right now!” That’s when I decided I wanted to be a nurse! Then, God performed a miracle, and my dad went from having brain damage to absolutely no brain damage on his scans and then shortly after he woke up! I made it a goal of mine to go to nursing school to make my dad proud and to help save loved ones for other families, like the nurses in the ICU did for my dad and my family! Fast forward a couple of years and I got certified to be an emergency medical technician on the ambulance. I worked as an EMT serving your local community for four years while I was going through nursing school. Once I graduated nursing school, I took an internship to get a job in the emergency department. I knew working in emergency medicine was exactly where I needed to be since I loved working on the ambulance. Of course, working in the emergency department was a very intense and stressful job. Then the COVID pandemic came, and it made it even harder. We lost nurses due to covid, or nurses retired early because of COVID. Nurse to patient ratios became even more unsafe than what they were in the first place. I was expected to care for more people than I should have. This made me feel like I couldn’t care for each patient the way I wanted to because, I didn’t have enough time in a shift to do everything I needed to do! Even though I knew it wasn’t my fault, and I knew deep down I was giving each patient 100% of the passion and care I had in me, it still wasn’t enough. This left me feeling disappointed in myself, like I was a bad nurse. Even though deep down I knew I really wasn’t. I have seen patients in their worst and last moments in life. When patients weren’t nice to me, I tried to put myself in their shoes to be more understanding. But there came a point when the threats, verbal, mental and even physical abuse from patients became too much to handle. I tried to tell myself that the good of helping people outweighed the bad, but it just didn’t for me. I found myself extremely depressed, not wanting to be a nurse anymore. Not even proud to be a nurse anymore. I would cope in unhealthy ways like stress eating, laying on the couch all day on my days off work, oversleeping, not keeping up with things around the house and not socializing with family or friends. I didn’t even want to do simple things like go to a hair appointment for myself. Then one day I became so tired of feeling that way, I decided to force myself to do something for ME! So, I drug my feet and went to a hair appointment knowing I would look and feel better about myself afterwards. I remember sitting in the salon chair observing the environment around me thinking “WOW! It would be so nice to work in an environment like this. Patients wouldn’t be threatening me, screaming at me, hitting me, or spitting on me. This would be so much less stress! Should I go back to school and do something different for a career? My hairdresser always plays the role of a therapist and asks how I’m doing. I always have that open door with her, to be able to talk about both the good and the bad that was going on in my life. Just having that ONE person that asks " so how are you" in the sincerest way, willing and ready to listen in such a time of need, really makes a huge difference in your life. So not only does she always make me feel beautiful on the outside with a new hair style, but she also makes me feel better on the inside! SO, when I saw the opportunity to own my own mobile med spa as a RN, I took it! Knowing it would put me in the work environment I have been praying for. I knew I could work in salons and beauty bars to help the owners provide their clients with facial injectable services or one day have my own studio space. I knew that starting Bliss By Riss Aesthetics I could help people feel beautiful inside and out like my hairdresser made me feel. This is exactly why I left bedside nursing to open this business, to make YOU look and feel beautiful inside and out!
